As Servants

As servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. 2 Cor 6:4-10

How does this lead you to pray for the church in Morocco?

Utter Darkness and Chains

Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness,
prisoners suffering in iron chains,
because they rebelled against God’s commands
and despised the plans of the Most High.
So he subjected them to bitter labor;
they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness,
and broke away their chains.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
for he breaks down gates of bronze
and cuts through bars of iron.
Psalm 107:10-16

Use this Psalm as you pray for a Disciple Making Movement in Morocco.

Watching Doctrine

“Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them , because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” 1 Timothy 4:16

Lord, please keep your disciples in Morocco zealous for a life that reflects yours. Lord, give them wisdom as they search your Word. Please remove any doctrine that does not mirror your Word or heart within the church in Morocco. Give the disciples eyes to see clearly truth and lies, even within the church. Father, give them perseverance as they preach your truth and live for you in a country that does not reflect you.

Pray for Fellowship

Pray for the believers who are gathering together today. Pray they will encourage one another. Pray they will not get out of the habit of meeting together. Pray they will carry each other’s burdens and take care of one another. Pray against the enemies schemes to separate them or discourage them.

How can God be Jesus?

“How can Jesus be God?” “How can God become man?”

These questions are often asked by Moroccans as they ponder Jesus and his identity. But those are the wrong questions to ask. The question is, do they think God can have the characteristics that Jesus had? Is God for the poor, the blind, the irreligious? Is God willing to be humbled and take up a cross for his love for the people of the world?

Please pray that the Spirit will reveal God’s real character to Moroccans. Pray they will truly know and understand that God IS willing to humble himself. He IS for the poor and oppressed. Jesus IS God and all that that implies.

Urgent Request

Please be praying for the believers in Morocco who are currently under heavy persecution. Ask the Father to give them wisdom and protection. It’s a terrifying time to be harassed and beaten by friends, neighbors, family and the local authorities. Please get on your knees tonight and pray for encouragement for the believers who are going through this and for those who are persecuting them.

Focus of the Day: Healing

“Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you.'” Luke 10:9

Pray for physical healings in Morocco. Already there are many stories where people have seen Jesus’ power through healing. Pray the believers, local and ex-patriots, will boldly pray for healing.

Pray for hearts to heal from lies, fears and sin. Pray the disciples in Morocco will boldly tell their neighbors, friends and family that God is bringing his Kingdom to earth through the renewing of their hearts and minds to his will. Jesus said, ‘the kingdom is near you’. It is for everyone! Praise God! Pray Moroccans will understand and truly know this!

Focus of the Day: Stay

“Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages.” Luke 10:7

Jesus commands his disciples to live life with others as they preach the gospel. Moroccan culture already thrives on this kind of living. Many times people stay for weeks at their relatives’ house for holidays. Pray believers will use those opportunities to preach the gospel.

The house Jesus is referring to is of the ‘person of peace’ in verse 6. Pray the Spirit will lead believers into homes where they are welcome and they can stay to teach the Word.

Urgent Request

Recently a leader in his neighborhood came to a believer’s house trying to force him to go back to the mosque to worship. The conversation did not go as the leader expected and left very upset.

Yesterday, the believer received a call from his boss. A few weeks ago his boss had confronted him about not going to the mosque. Yesterday, the boss decided to call the police and tell them to ‘take a special look’ at the believer.

Please pray for the believer. Pray for wisdom as he decides what to do. Pray that God will be glorified through this persecution. Pray that through this the leader, his boss and the police will be told the gospel. Praise God that the believer has remained faithful through this.

Focus of the Day: People of Peace

“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.” Luke 10:5-6

Jesus sent out his disciples in peace to promote peace. Pray the disciples in Morocco will bring peace wherever they go. Pray the disciples will find people of peace in neighborhoods and throughout the country so the gospel can be spread through the people of peace. Pray the Spirit will guide them to the people of peace and see clearly the people who are not peaceful.
